Jean and Ken moved to Hazel Lanes from Toronto in 1994. They originally met in London, while Jean was teaching and Ken was taking his MBA at Western. Shortly after they were married, Ken was transferred by IBM to Montreal and then to Toronto. Following retirement, they chose London as their home. They have two daughters and four grandchildren. Sadly, Ken passed away in March 2021.

Jean is active at Oakridge Presbyterian Church. She sings in the choir and a larger Oakridge based, southern Ontario choir which has made two trips to England and Scotland, the most recent one being the summer of 2006. Jean volunteers at Ronald McDonald House and Mission Services of London. Jean enjoys bridge, traveling and the cottage near Haliburton.
