Many of you I already know either personally or through my role as Chair of the Pool Committee and member of the Board since October 2020. For those of you I do not yet know, let me offer a very brief introduction. My wife Cheri and I moved to Hazel Lanes in 2016 after living in Kilworth for nearly twenty years. Originally from Niagara Falls (Ontario), I spent many years travelling as a business strategy consultant. Now I devote my time to the golf course, travel and wine tasting.

Hazel Lanes is one of the most unique communities I have ever had the pleasure to be part of. I remember passing by it occasionally when it was first being built in the early 90s and recognizing this development was going to be something very special. Little did I expect that I would one day have the privilege to be living within it. Our uniqueness stems not only from the beautiful and spacious natural areas that surround and are part of our complex, somewhat sheltering it from the rest of the city, but also by the sense of community I came to realize shortly after moving here. We are a group of 69 individual units that gather to chat on the roadways or by the pool, plan social events together such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties, participate in book clubs, bridge clubs and annual billiard tournaments, not to mention the many other social gatherings within the complex I have witnessed and, in many cases, been part of. We all seem to share our pride in being part of this place and thereby our sense of community.

In my role as President as well as a member of this community, I endeavour to maintain the standards and culture which have come to define us. This is our home; one we all care about and take great pride in. Feel free to reach out to me should you have any questions or comments.
